Tammy Butler Kidd

While Tammy Kidd was in law school she worked at the Harris County District Attorney's Office in the trial bureau.  Upon graduation from South Texas College of Law in 1999 she became an Assistant District Attorney under Harris County District Attorney Johnny Holmes.  Tammy tried many cases to verdict in felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile courts.  She also handled innumerable plea negotiations, researched legal issues, and prepared motions and memorandum regarding various aspects of criminal law. Tammy's years of experience prosecuting criminal cases at all levels gives her a unique perspective in representing those accused of crimes.

Tammy left the Harris County District Attorney's office in 2003 and began her own private law practice.  She was also the attorney consultant and legal communication specialist for Media Masters where she worked to create strategic media communication plans for attorneys handling high profile cases.  Tammy was hugely effective in protecting the client's image and future profitability during every phase of litigation.

Now, at Schaffer Carter, Tammy uses her experience to exclusively represent people accused in criminal cases with her main objective being to ensure that her clients’ rights are protected.  At Schaffer Carter, Tammy handles criminal matters in state and federal courts including post-disposition matters such as petitions for non-disclosure, expunctions, appeals and parole.  Tammy's experience compliments that of the lawyers at Schaffer Carter who have over 100 years of combined experience.  The firm has a history of obtaining favorable results defending its clients in a broad range of criminal matters in state and federal cases throughout the United States.
